 BLYTON PONDS NEWS

Last Update: Wednesday 11 June2008.

Our summer open match was held on Sunday 8th June, unlike all our other open matches this one was very poorly attended and on 22 anglers fished it. It was a hot day and all species are spawning at the moment so it was a disappointing winning weight of 15lb 1 oz from peg C13 by K. East. Second was Mark Alderson from peg A13 with 14lb 12oz and third was Steve Fegan with 13lb 7oz from peg C7.

Fishing in general at the moment seems to be better either early morning or late afternoon/evening when the sun isn't quite so strong, then the anglers are reporting catches of 40lb upwards in a couple of hours. Prawn and luncheon meat seems to be doing well at the moment, and we are selling a new range of flavoured hook pellets, and the reports at the moment are that crab and mussels flavours are doing particularly well.
