The weather has warmed up nicely now and with it the fish are frantically trying to pack on the weight before going into spawn. Pond A and B have been fishing well with maggot producing plenty of roach, rudd and perch. Carp have been showing with luncheon meat and floaing bread in the early morning and late afternoon after a sunny day, 2 - 3 lb barbel have been taking maggot on pond A just off the island. Although we're still getting some night frosts the night fishermen on Pond B are mostly reporting carp up to 10lb and good chub coming out. Pond C has been fishing exceptionally well with good carp, koi, mirrors and commons coming out to sweetcorn and luncheon meat. Pond D is seeing good chub and some barbel starting to show.

Outifbridge a.c. had a match on Pond A on Sunday 25th April. 12 of their members turned up on the day. Andy Fitz took the top spot with 18lb from Peg 1. 2nd was Jim Mellors from peg 3 with 16lb 4oz and 3rd was Pete Gott from peg 14 with 12lb 4 oz. Although not in the top weights A5 produced some quality barbel using maggot, A11 had an excellent Blue Orfe in his bag again using maggot. Some good chub also showed on the day and all of their members caught.

Chris Lund caught this lovely barbel from Pond B when he came for a day's fishing on Monday 26th April. his chosen bait was double maggot for this one.

Another nice barbel for Chris Lund, also caught on pond B but this time using sweetcorn and single white maggot.
